Save Your Breath

Sunsphere

McGhee Tyson Airport

Another day in the city, you’ve never looked so pale
They say the pure of heart don’t stand a chance
So you better lean to swim, there will be rainy days

Blinded by the break lights, nothings moving here
All these questions just get answered with another mile
There is no help at all

Question me your questions, it’s a pointless enterprise
You can ask but I can only tell you what I think you want to hear
So for crying out loud

Will you listen to those bleeding hearts and attempt to show concern
You glance towards your watch and join as everybody sings
What have you become

The truth it’s for students of philosophy, faith is for losers like us
Secrets are for people who intend to get away with being in the wrong
So don’t you breathe a word

Save your breath for laughing out loud,
Save your breath for talking all night
It’s going to be alright again, save your breath

Standing at the station you brought a change of heart
You smile away the old country as you watch it disappear
And pull these years apart

Starring out the window, from this sad lonely seat
You tell yourself a hundred times that forever starts today
Just think how good it feels

Will you hop a plane to anywhere, there’s surely no place like home
There are no strangers just people you don’t really know
Before you cry out loud

Save your breath for laughing out loud,
Save your breath for talking all night
For riding in the clouds again, save your breath

Eye Of The Tiger

Rising up, back on the street,
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance now I’m back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times, it happens too fast,
You trade your passion for glory,
Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past,
You must fight just to keep them alive

It’s the eye of the tiger,
It’s the thrill of the fight,
Rising up to the challenge of our rival,
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night,
And he’s watching us all
With the eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat,
Hanging tough, staying hungry
They stack the odds still we take to the street
For the kill, with the skill to survive

Rising up, straight to the top,
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I’m not going to stop
Just a man and his will to survive

It’s the eye of the tiger,
It’s the thrill of the fight,
Rising up to the challenge of our rival,
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night,
And he’s watching us all
With the eye of the tiger

Charlie Brown's Parents

I'm not much of a phone conversationalist...I pretty much like to get the information, and if there is something important...fine...but I don't spend a lot of time talking on the phone to any one. I guess the biggest reason is that when I was little I got a lot of ear infections and no ever took me to the doctor so I developed some hearing loss...I have to look people in the face when I'm talking to them and pretty much read their lips in order to understand them. I get really flustrated when people try to go into a lot of details about things over the phone because I can't understand every thing they are saying. Not to mention the fact that I get tired of having to ask people to back up or repeat themselves. A lot of times I try to figure it out as they go but then I still don't get it. People think I'm not interested in talking to them, or I'm not listening to what they have to say, but it's like I'm really trying, I just can't hear.
I had a job as a telemarketer but they fired me because I seriously had like zero sales...the manager said, "I don't see how this is possible, just from the volume of people you contact, someone should have given in. The thing was that, even the people who were interested would get tried of dealing with me and hang up. People don't like telemarketers and they really don't like deaf telemarketers so I was, seriously, the worst telemarketer that has ever existed...I deserve a metal, trophy or something for that.

Muppets

Gonzo & Pepe

Assuming you actually have a soul and are even moderately familiar with Jim Henson's Muppets, chances are that you will recall one of it's most bizarre cast members, Gonzo. This character first arrived on the scene in 1970 and unlike most other Muppets, no one really knows how to classify him except for being a weirdo or a whatever. Despite his appearance, which include blue fur, bug eyes and a hooked nose, Gonzo also has many human attributes. He has always struggled with the notion that he isn't sure what he is or where he belongs. His self image has undergone many changes over time, at one point he reinvented himself as a daredevil, Evel Knievel like stunt Muppet, and referred to himself as Gonzo The Great. Later, after being struck by lightening, he becomes conveinced that his alphabet breakfast cereal is sending him messages from out space. He further plunges into schizophrenia when he has the delusion of being visited by creatures from outer space, creatures that closely resemble fish except that they have the ability to swim through space and time. These otherworldly visitors have made contact with Gonzo to reveal to him that he is actually a space being himself and that there are more of his kind somewhere in the universe. Once Gonzo received this revelation he devotes himself to contacting his long lost extra terrestrial relatives. In all of his wackiness, Gonzo is about the most entertaining of Muppets, save Pepe, who despite what you may think is not a shrimp but a King Prawn.

Oregon Trail

Today, I was a tutor at an elementary school. Somehow I ended up in a computer lab. I haven't been in an elementary school computer lab since I was in elementary school myself, so the memories came rushing back. Naturally, the games they play now are so much more advanced than the ones I played in school. The games these kids were playing looked like so much fun that I kind of wanted to push one of the them out of their set so that I could play, but I managed to restrain myself.

Bob Dylan

When your head gets twisted
When your mind grows numb
When you think you’re too old or too young
Too smart, or too dumb
You feel like you’re lagging behind
Or loosing your pace, a slow motion crawl
In life’s busy race

When the winds got you sideways
With one hand holding on
And the other starts slipping,
All the feeling is gone

The sidewalks starts curling
The street gets too long
You start walking backward
Although you know that it’s wrong
Lonesome comes up as down goes the day
And tomorrow’s morning seems so far away

The sky cries water, and your drain pipes are pouring
The lightening is flashing and the thunder is crashing
The windows are rattling, breaking, the rooftop shaking
And your whole world is slamming and banging
Your minuets of sun turn to hours of storm
You tell yourself, you sometimes say
I never knew, no one told me it was going be this way

You start getting chills and you’re dripping from sweat
You’re looking for something you haven’t quite found yet
Your jackhammer pounds from your head to your feet
But you need it badly as it grinds though the street
Bells ring loudly but you can’t hear a beat
And you think your ears might have been hurt
And your eyes have turned filthy from the slight blinding dirt

You figured you’d failed in yesterdays rush
You were faked out and fooled and facing the flush
All the while you’ve been holding three queens
It’s making you mad, it’s making you mean
This bouncing around in a pinball machine

There’s something on your mind that you want to be saying
Somebody someplace ought to be hearing
But it’s trapped on your tongue, sealed in your head
It bothers you badly when you lay in your bed
No matter how hard you try you just can’t say it
And your scared to your soul that you just might forget it
Your eyes get flooded by the tears in your head
Your blankets and pillows turn to concrete and lead

You’re flat on your belly with your hands tied behind
And then you ‘re face to face with another detour sign
And you ask yourself, just what am I doing
On this road that I’m walking, on this trail that I turning
On this curve I’m hanging, on this pathway I’m strolling
In the space I’m taking in the air I’m inhaling
Am I mixed up too bad, am I mixed up too much or too hard
Why am I walking, where am I running,
What am I saying, what do I know?

I try with my whole soul best never to think these thoughts
Never to let them gain any ground or make my heart pound
But then I know when they are around,
Waiting for a chance to slip and drop down
Because you hear them coming in the night time creeping
And you fear they might catch you sleeping
You jump from your bed from your last chapter of dreaming
And you can’t remember for the best of your thinking
If that was you in your dream that was screaming

You need something special, something different alright
A fast flying plane on a tornado track
To shoot you somewhere and shoot you back
You need a cyclone wind on a steam engine howl
That’s been banging blowing and booming forever
And knows your troubles and hard times are over
You need a grey hound bus that won’t bar any race
That won’t laugh at your looks your voice or your face
You need something to open up a new door
And show you something you’ve see before
But over looked a hundred times or more
You need something to open your eyes
To make it known, that it’s you and no one else that owns
That spot that you’re standing, that space that you’re taking
That the world hasn’t got you beat, it an’t got you licked
No matter how many times you might get kicked

The truth is, you need hope and you need it bad
The trouble is you know it too good
You’re getting the chills because you can’t find it on a dollar bill
You won’t find it on Macy’s window seal
You won’t find it on any rich kids road map
It’s not going to be in any fat kids fraternity house
You won't get it from a Hollywood diet,
You can’t find it in any nightclub or yacht club
Your bound to tell that no matter how hard you rub
You won’t find it on any lottery ticket stub
It’s not in the rumors people are telling you
It’s not in the pimple lotion people are selling you
In not in a million dollar house or a movie star’s blouse
You can’t find it on the golf course
It’s not in the fifty star generals, flipped out phonies
Who would turn you in for a tenth of a penny
The ones that wheel and deal and whorl and twirl
Play games with each other in this sand box world
You can’t find it in the no talent fools,
Who run around gallant and make all the rules
It’s not in the ones who don’t have any talent
but think they do, and think they’re fooling you
You yell at yourself, you throw down your hat
And say, I don’t want to be like that
Is there anyone out there that knows how I feel
Good Lord almighty, that stuff isn’t real

That isn’t my game, it’s not my race
I’m looking for a different place
Where do you look for this lamp that’s burning
Where do you look for this oil well that’s gushing
Where do you look for this candle that’s glowing
Life’s a journey and the destination is going

Short People

My height is 5ft/ 5inches
To make a long story short I'm not the tallest guy ever.

So I'm trying to feel better about myself because it seems that some girls don't dig short guys. This seems a little more than unfair to me. I think about that part in the Movie ET; where Elliot lets all the frogs out of the science lab. As the frogs are making their escape Elliot takes this pretty blonde girl, who is two and a half inches taller than him, by the hand. He pulls her close and his forehead comes up to her chin. At that very moment some fat kid must have slipped and comes crawling on the science lab floor. Elliot steps on the fat kids back and gives the pretty blond girl a big romantic smooch.

Where is a fat kid when you need one?
